Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of breaking another UEFA Champions League record.
Ronaldo is set to become the first player to ever score 17 goals in a single year in the Champions League.
The Portuguese forward needs just one goal to move above his own previous best tall of 16 goals in a single calendar year.
The reigning World best scored 16 times in the Champions League in 2015, and he has done well to equal that tall in the past 11 month, Ronaldo can become the first player to achieve the feat only if he can score just a goal in the remaining two games left in this year’s edition of the Champions League.
Real Madrid will travel to Cyprus to face APOEL on Tuesday and finish the campaign with a game with Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu on December 6.
Ronaldo has the best scoring record in a single Champions League campaign with 17 goals in 2013-14 season.
Ronaldo is the leader of the top scorer in this season Champions League with six goals in four games followed by Tottenham Hotspur marksman Harry Kane.
