Whatsapp New Update: Now You Can Delete Sent Messages With New Recall Feature.

The world’s most-used messaging app, WhatsApp is soon going to roll out a new update that will enable users to recall or delete the unread messages. So the next time you send a message intended for someone mistakenly to someone else on WhatsApp, do not worry!

WhatsApp has been testing the Recall feature since months and is testing it on devices before enabling its stable version across the globe. WhatsApp regularly comes up with new updates that further enhance its utility among its users. The messaging app is available in more than 50 different languages around the world and in 10 Indian languages and has 1.2 billion monthly active users. The app currently has 200 million monthly active users in India.

How does the recall feature work?
1. Recall feature on WhatsApp is the       ability to delete the unread messages that you don’t wish the other person to see or you have mistakenly sent it to someone else which means, if you have sent an unintentional message, you can recall it or delete it.

2. As the name suggests, it’ll allow users to recall sent messages within five minutes of them being sent. WhatsApp calls it, ‘Recall’ the sent messages to other users.

3. For this, the user simply has to tap on the message that they wish they did not send and then click on the ‘recall’ option.

4. A user may have soon a five-minute window to revoke such misdirected messages.

5. The users will be able to edit only recent messages and not the old ones.

6. This feature will enable users to recall or unsent texts, images, videos, GIFs, documents, quoted messages and even status replies within a five-minute window.

The ‘Recall’ feature is not available for all its users as it is in the testing phase and will only be rolled out to the general public once it has been tested enough and is found to be bug-free. Meanwhile, a new leak has also surfaced online, suggesting that the Recall feature will arrive soon for iPhone users with WhatsApp version 2.17.30+.

As per WABetaInfo, the Twitter account that tracks WhatsApp updates said that the mobile messaging platform will soon launch the ‘Recall’ feature. It suggests that the new Status feature will be coming on WhatsApp web soon. “WhatsApp has added in beta the possibility to edit messages that you already sent. It is actually disabled by default and it’s under development,” an earlier WABetaInfo’s tweet read.
WhatsApp has started rolling out an update to its iOS app which introduces three new features – Album, Filters and Reply shortcut. Facebook has decided to move the massive WhatsApp data from IBM Cloud to its own data centres, a report by IANS said. The report further states that WhatsApp has been one of IBM’s top five public cloud customers in terms of revenue and was at one point spending $2 million a month with IBM.
